Waylon Jennings – Songbird | Album Download

Waylon Jennings‘ newest posthumous album Songbird drops on October 3, 2025, released via Son of Jessi / Thirty Tigers. This record is the first of three albums assembled by his son, Shooter Jennings, built from previously unheard full‐band recordings Waylon made between 1973 and 1984 with The Waylors.
The title track is a cover of Fleetwood Mac’s “Songbird,” and it’s joined by other newly released songs including “The Cowboy (Small Texas Town)”. To make the archival material shine, Shooter Jennings mixed and compiled it using largely analog gear (including a vintage mixing board at Sunset Sound Studio 3), and brought in surviving Waylors members plus guest artists like Ashley Monroe and Elizabeth Cook for backing vocals or overdubs where needed.
Fans can pre-order and pre-save Songbird now, and expect multiple physical formats including LP, CD, and limited vinyl editions. The album runs about 30 minutes across 10 tracks and offers a rare chance to hear Jennings in a creative period many thought was long closed off, resurrected and polished with respect to its original vibe.
