“Shmokin” is the third track on FREE, Nasty C‘s fifth studio album, dropped on 12 September 2025 under his own label Tall Racks Records. It’s part of the early stretch of the album which sets a vibe—fresh, high-energy, relaxed yet confident.
The genre / style of “Shmokin” continues the Hip Hop / Rap foundation of the album but leans into vibe / lifestyle themes. In the album track-by-track notes, Nasty C says he recorded “Shmokin” at his house in Johannesburg. The concept grew out of feeling like he’s “back outside, smoking, drinking, vibing, mosh pits—all that kind of stuff.” So it’s less intense content-wise; more about mood, being present, enjoying moments, letting the environment breathe around you. It has that contrast between studio polish and carefree energy.
