Morgan Wallen reintroduced one of his earliest fan favorites with a fresh twist in “Spin You Around (1/24)”, released January 26, 2024. The original version of “Spin You Around” came out in 2015 on his Stand Alone EP under Panacea Records.
This 2024 version is an acoustic re-recording, produced with the help of Joey Moi and Bryan Sutton, intended to offer a purer, more controlled version of the song. Wallen recorded it in Nashville during the week of its release, and even created its artwork during a duck hunting trip. Importantly, this release was a deliberate move by Wallen: it countered a 10th anniversary reissue of Stand Alone that his former label planned — a reissue he opposed.
Despite being a rework rather than brand new music, “Spin You Around (1/24)” made an impact on charts: it peaked at #10 on New Zealand Hot Singles and #13 on the Australia Country Hot 50. It’s also available on major streaming platforms, including Spotify, where listeners can experience Wallen’s softened, introspective vocals backed by stripped instrumentation.
