English indie folk group Bear’s Den teamed up with Irish singer-songwriter Ciaran Lavery for their collaborative EP Promiser, released on October 10, 2025 via Communion Records. The first single, “Promiser”, dropped earlier on September 12, 2025, setting the tone for the full EP.
Creative Approach & Sound
The Promiser EP was captured over a compact five-day session in Andrew Davie’s home studio, embracing simplicity and emotional authenticity. Bear’s Den and Lavery intentionally kept production minimal and organic—favoring one-take performances and subtle arrangements. Their goal: create songs that don’t necessarily rely on conflict or drama, but reflect quiet, everyday moments in relationships. Guest musicians Emma Gatrill and Joshua Burnside also contributed with minimal overdubs.
